Walter Prentice

Walter has been practicing law since 1975, at which time he received the highest score on the Texas Bar Exam. He served on active duty in the United States Army as an armor officer. Later, Mr. Prentice became an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp. in the Texas Army National Guard. and currently serves as the Staff Judge Advocate of the Texas State Guard. After graduating from law school, Mr. Prentice worked for the Texas Attorney General’s Office defending Civil Rights cases and representing the State of Texas in a variety of areas in State and Federal Courts. Later he worked with Gray and Becker defending a wide variety of clients.
After law school, Mr. Prentice served two Appellate Clerkships in Austin with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and later became the Chief Staff Attorney on the Court.
Mr. Prentice has been in private practice since 1985 before becoming Of Counsel to the David K. Sergi & Associates, P.C. in the Bankruptcy, Criminal and Appellate sections practice and where he has focused his work while maintaining his own independent practice.
